- The Netflix originals docuseries “The Greatest Rivalry: India vs Pakistan” music composer C. Girinandh spoke exclusively to Firstpost about a lot of things like his memories of the cricket rivalry between the nations and the evolution of music.
Girinandh said - Being a fan of India Pakistan matches, I drew a lot of inspiration from the match experiences and emotions and incorporated them into my soundtrack for this series.
When asked about his memories of watching India Pakistan cricket matches, and using any of those memories while working on this docuseries, the music composer had some revelations to make.
Girinandh said - I have seen almost all these matches via TV and I was even there during the Chennai test which had happened here. It was a dicey situation where India was chasing and we were on the verge of winning, but we lost it. I was a kid and we were scared and wanted to run away from the stadium because there could have been a riot like situation or something like that.
He added: But to our surprise, it was a standing ovation and an outstanding moment for all of us present there. Since, I have experienced it, so it was easy for me to convey those moments through my music.
On his upcoming projects
I am doing my next with my band “Oxygen” along with a 20 piece orchestra.
It will be in a different immersive format and genres. We have recorded and shot it on Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. My future collaborations are with a lot of singers from India and rapper Devoid.
