I hope that the year ends with another release of mine, but it has been a great year. It started with me being a cop and then a background dancer in The Ba***ds Of Bollywood (laughs), and now coming to Simi Mehta talking about digital detox. I am very happy and grateful.

How was it like dancing on that iconic song from Gupt which is Sailaab in the show with Bobby Deol ?

It was quite a challenge because I was so out of it. I suddenly had to come on a set and look hot, and everything. But it was a lot of fun to shoot, especially those expressions. It was also very challenging because we had to exactly match the movements, and the angles.

How did you prepare for your character in Thode Door Thode Paas, especially when it talks about digital detox?

We come from that era, the 80s and the 90s, when life was much simpler. That was the time when we had genuine connections and conversation conversations, heartfelt connections, and conversations. That is something which is clearly missing now because of all the gadgets and phones in our hands. My mom and sister always tell me that we are from the head down community. Every time we meet, we are only scrolling on our phones and not talking to each other. The show is really relevant, the script is very light and beautiful, and yet keeps you thinking. I just jumped at the idea.

Social media is now a tool for monetary mechanism. Is it possible for actors to quit this world?

It is complicated and sometimes as actors, you are caught in that predicament- How much is enough. Everyone’s life is out there in the open these days. There is no mystery or privacy left. I never go on live sessions to talk, but people keep telling me to connect with my audience, and the things that I’m supposed to do as an actor. I honestly feel like I can connect with my audience with the help of the work that I do. Your Work should be able to speak for yourself, and that is exactly what is happening with me on social media.

Your husband Kunal Roy Kapur plays a numerologist in the show. What’s your take on this study and science?

I am definitely getting my horoscope done to know how my next year will turn out to be. This is something my father used to do being a Sagittarius.

How would you describe your experience of working with young filmmakers like Aryan Khan?

They come up with fresh ideas, they’re new young and creative. Aryan is the youngest director I have worked with. I was having a blast. I was following his vision. I have never done something like that so I had a blast.
