Emmys 2023: Narendra Modi revisits Ekta Kapoor's iconic show, TV Queen says this award is for India, 5th largest economy

Content Czarina Ektaa R Kapoor has added another prestigious accolade to her impressive list of global achievements as she was honoured with the esteemed ‘International Emmy Directorate Award’ at the 51st International Emmys in New York, which was presented by the renowned author and new age leader, Deepak Chopra. Before Ektaa was invited on stage, an AV was played which narrated her inspirational journey. In the clip, PM Narendra Modi also revealed that Ektaa ’s show was not only popular in India but across the globe.

After accepting the award, Kapoor gave a heartfelt speech and said,  “I would like to thank my mother, who I started this company with from my dad’s garage. Thank you, Thank you India, because in you I find the reflection of me. You have been pulled, pushed, conquered, and ruled, and as you found your freedom you found your voice. A few decades later today we stand tall, not needing anyone’s validation as the fifth largest economy. This award is for you India, and all the Indians here. We are few, but we are enough. This is for your India; in your history, I find my stories, in your strength, I find my writ, to my motherland…” She also shared a video of the trophy on her official Instagram handle and wrote, “India I’m bringing home YOUR Emmy @iemmys” Expressing her gratitude for this milestone, she quoted, “I’m delighted to receive the prestigious Emmys Directorate Award! It brings me immense joy and happiness to be honoured at a global scale, such as this. I’ve always wanted to tell stories because they give me a chance to be heard, seen and represented. I am grateful for the audience’s love that has opened doors for me, allowing me to transition from television to the world of films and OTT. Each story that I told became a bridge to connect with audiences on many levels. The unexpected turns this journey took are a testament to the power of love showered by the people of India and beyond. My heart is filled with gratitude, and a stronger resolve to make a positive impact through my work for audiences.”
