Ek villain has dream opening day: Makes off with Rs 17 crore

Bollywood analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that Ek Villain made Rs 16.72 crore, in comparison to Grand Masti which made 12.51 crore and Humshakals which earned Rs 12.5 crore.

Ek Villain starring Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor has stared down its competition to top earnings for Friday - the opening day of the film. Bollywood analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that Ek Villain made Rs 16.72 crore, in comparison to Grand Masti which made 12.51 crore and Humshakals which earned Rs 12.5 crore. In terms of screen average, he tweeted, it was the highest. The film, which is a Bollywood take on Korean film I Saw The Devil has got fairly positive reviews.
