Ed Sheeran on reprising his Game of Thrones cameo: 'No one wants to see me come back'

London: Singer Ed Sheeran said he would not want to return on Game of Thrones as no one wanted to see him again on the show. [caption id=“attachment_3829545” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  A still from Ed Sheeran’s cameo on Game of Thrones.[/caption] The 26-year-old musician made a fleeting appearance in the seventh season premiere episode of the HBO series as a Lannister soldier, who had a chance encounter with real-life friend actor Maisie Williams’ Arya Stark. The ‘Castle on the hill’ singer appeared 39 minutes into the episode (aired on 16 July) when his unnamed character’s voice caught the attention of Arya (Williams) as she was riding through the forest. “For hands of gold are always cold, but a woman’s hands are warm,” Sheeran’s character croons while sitting fireside with a group of soldiers who have stopped to have a bite to eat before heading to The Riverlands. Sheeran said although he enjoyed his screen time on GOT, he would not want to come back on the show, reported FemaleFirst. “No one wants to see me come back. I wanted to be a cameo in it, and I’ve done the cameo. I’m cool with it, though. I enjoyed it,” he told MTV News. The ‘Shape of You’ hit-maker received a mixed response for his small role. The director of the show, Jeremy Podeswa and actor Sophie Turner came out in his defence. (With inputs from PTI)
