Dostana 2 that was shelved few years back may be getting revived but not with Kartik Aaryan as per a report by Mid-day. The makers are now keen to cast Vikrant Massey.
The source said, “As initial talk about reviving the rom-com began in the production house, retaining Lakshya was a no-brainer.”
The source added about Vikrant, “He is the top choice if the makers take Dostana 2 forward. The team wants actors with chemistry and gravitas. Vikrant fits that brief.”
Janhvi Kapoor on the film being shelved
The actress once said, “I don’t know really. We had even shot for that film for about 30 to 35 days. The shoot was going very well, according to me. I don’t know why the film was shelved honestly.”
She added, “Of course, I tried asking also, but I guess (it was because) we began shooting for that film long before Covid.”
Janhvi continued, “And then Covid happened and essentially there was a one-and-a-half years delay. Then people felt that to restart the film… I don’t know.”
