reports that Ganesh alleged that Dileep was expelled as the treasurer of the AMMA back in July by Mammootty, under pressure from Prithviraj Sakumaran. Prithviraj is a close friend of the Malayalam actress who was abducted and assaulted in February 2017 — the case that Dileep is an accused in. The same report quotes Ganesh as saying, “I think Mammootty was trying to please Prithviraj by doing so (expelling Dileep from AMMA).”
The Indian Express
reports that Ganesh also alleged that the expulsion was against the procedure followed by AMMA. He said that the president or general secretary of AMMA cannot arbitrarily expel any member from the organisation. Ganesh said that a disciplinary committee needs to be formed which will present their case to a three-member panel after investigation, which in turn, will decide whether the member should be expelled or not, as stated in the same report. Dileep was expelled from AMMA immediately after he was arrested in the Malayalam actress assault case on 10 July. The actor’s fifth bail plea in Kerala High Court was accepted on Tuesday.
