Divya Khosla Kumar has choreographed 5 songs in Yaariyan 2 and all the songs in her directorial Sanam Re. Before her acting stint, Divya also donned the director’s hat and helmed the first installment of Yaariyan. Divya Khosla Kumar, Meezaan Jafri and Pearl V Puri-starrer Yaariyan 2 released on October 20 in cinemas. The film made approx. Rs 60 lacs on day one and around Rs 55 lacs on day two, taking the two-day total to Rs 1.15 crore. But here’s how the film is already a profitable venture for the makers. Made at a budget of Rs 25 crore, the digital rights of the film were sold to Jio, while the satellite rights were acquired by Sony. As a result, the film is a success with its earnings so far. This means the film’s distribution deals cemented its path to profitability. In its review of the film, Firstpost wrote- “Director duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru made a romantic saga amid a war in Russia with Salman Khan and Sneha Ullal back in 2005 (Lucky- No Time For Love). For all its flaws, it was ambitiously crafted and exquisitely shot and had a haunting soundtrack acting as its spine. Sanam Teri Kasam (2016) gave all the dejected lovers enough material to create reels on social media.
