Madhur Bhandarkar may be basking in the success of Heroine these days but there was a time when his movie might have been shelved had Kareena Kapoor not swopped in readily after Aishwarya Rai bid farewell to all her prior commitments, including Heroine, and merrily embraced the path to motherhood. Now, in Bollywood, very few can afford to make mistakes and it is always better to be safe than sorry especially when so much is at stake. According to a Times Of India report, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has taken a lesson or two from his colleague Madhur Bhandarkar. Although the initial buzz was that Kareena and Bhansali could not reach a consensus on the remuneration amount and so Deepika was brought in as a replacement. TOI quoted a source as saying, “The bone of contention between Bebo and Bhansali wasn’t the money; as is being speculated in the media. It is reportedly the pregnancy clause that Bebo refused to sign.” Bhansali returns to direction two years after wielding the megaphone for Guzaarish. Ram Leela is the desi adaptation of Romeo and Juliet and stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in lead roles.
