Veteran Bollywood star Dharmendra was discharged from Breach Candy hospital on Wednesday morning after the family decided to take him home for treatment, his treating doctor told PTI.

Veteran Bollywood star Dharmendra was discharged from Breach Candy hospital on Wednesday morning after the family decided to take him home for treatment, his treating doctor told PTI.

The 89-year-old has been in and out of hospital for weeks. “Dharmendra ji was discharged from the hospital around 7.30 am. He will be treated at home as the family has decided to give him treatment at home,” Dr Pratit Samdani told PTI.

Yesterday, Dharmendra’s daughter and actress shared an official statement slamming the death rumours of the veteran actor and wrote, “The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank You for the prayers for Papa’s speedy recovery. Esha Deol.”

Sunny Deol’s team also issued an official statement that read: ‘Mr.  Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. Kindly don’t indulge in spreading false rumours regarding his health . Request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s right to privacy. Team Sunny Deol.’

The legendary actor has done films like Bandini, Guddi, Sholay, Pratigya, Chupke Chupke, Dream Girl, Charas, The Burning Train, Krodhi, Loha, Hukumat, Farishtay, Elaan-E-Jung, Tahalka, Dharam Veer, Life In A Metro, Apne, Johnny Gaddaar, Ikkis, and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani in his career.

He will be next seen in Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis, which features Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda in a lead role. The film is set to hit the screens in December.
