Dhanush parentage case: Elderly couple file police complaint accusing actor of producing fake documents
Dhanush won the parentage case against a Melur-based elderly couple in April after Madras High Court ruled out any tangible links.
More than six months after winning a case against a Melur-based couple who claimed Dhanush is their biological son, the Tamil actor may soon get embroiled in legal trouble again. The couple has filed a police complaint against Dhanush accusing him of submitting fake documents.
The Indian Express reports that Kathiresan and Meenakshi alleged that Dhanush's birth certificate, along with supporting documents, are fake which gave him an upper hand in winning the parentage case after Madras High Court could not establish any tangible links.
Now, the Times of India reports that Kathiresan filed a complaint on 5 October to the city police commissioner to direct the K Pudur police to register a case against Dhanush for allegedly producing fake documents before the Madras High Court.
The same report states that while the police was initially reluctant to file the complaint, owing to their assumption that the elderly couple lacks scope of inquiry, they ended up registering it after the complaint was sent through registered post on 6 October.
The report also states that Kathiresan has claimed that there was no record of Dhanush's birth with the Chennai corporation though the actor produced a document from the same corporation that testified that he was born in the Egmore government hospital on 27 July, 1983.
