Deepika Padukone on getting married to Ranveer Singh: He’s my best friend, playmate, companion and confidant

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh decided to take their six-year-long relationship to the next level with their November wedding. As social media and paparazzi broke into a frenzy to cover the couple’s special day, they remained disappointed as both Padukone and Singh stuck to their promise of a highly-private affair. This was promptly followed by three wedding receptions where Deepika and Ranveer posed for innumerable pictures. In a recent interview with GQ, Deepika opened up about husband Ranveer, her habit of talking to flowers, and life post marriage. Having near and dear ones at the wedding, who appreciated the two icons for the kind of people they really are, sans the limelight, thrilled Padukone. It was a celebration of happy energies and pure love. Padukone quipped that her bachelorette was gatecrashed by the bachelors. The couple and their close friends were in Orlando for a week and the plan was to ride the scariest roller-coaster rides. The Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit (at Universal Studios) and VR Avatar rides (at Disney’s Animal Kingdom) were a few that the actress recounted going on. Deepika said she’d always felt that Singh was everything she wanted in a man. “He’s my best friend, playmate, companion and confidant. I can be silly in front of him, I can be stupid in front of him, I can be sick in front of him, I can be whatever I want to be.” Hence, taking the next step was much easier for the two. Calling Ranveer an emotional and sensitive man behind the cameras, Deepika stated that she is the more intuitive partner in the relationship. The actress even confessed to her daily habit of talking to her flowers. Deepika said she’d always ask her plants on her deck how they were doing. On the work front, the actress informed that she was focusing on Meghna Gulzar’s feature on acid attack victims. The film will have Padukone serve as producer too.
