Deepika Padukone might star opposite Varun Dhawan in Shoojit Sircar's October?

Piku was one of Deepika Padukone's most memorable films. Director Shoojit Sircar gave her a role very different from the norm and she aced it. The two might work together again, in Sircar's upcoming film, tentatively titled October, as per a report from DNA.

Sircar has already signed Varun Dhawan to play the male lead in the film and Padukone, reportedly, is keen on playing the female protagonist.

Padukone's performance in Piku was widely appreciated and won her many awards, as well. Piku was an unconventionally heartwarming tale about a father-daughter relationship.

As per the same report, October will be a romantic story, where Dhawan's character will have an upper-hand.

Padukone, if signed, will have to take a backseat in the film. However, despite the shortcomings, she is still eager to collaborate with the director again.

Dhawan had announced his involvement in the project in an elaborate Instagram post. Here's his post:

Padukone is currently shooting for Padmavati and Dhawan is wrapping up Judwaa 2 opposite Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu.
