'Deepika Padukone & I were in a 2-year relationship' claims Dhokha actor Muzammil Ibrahim: 'Before she got married, we would...'

Muzammil Ibrahim, a popular model and actor, who featured in the music video Pardesiya alongside Rakhi Sawant and later featured in Pooja Bhatt’s directorial Dhokha, claimed that he and Deepika Padukone were in a relationship for 2 years.

He shared that in her initial days, he used to be a public figure while she was a newbie and now the tides have turned. “We were in a relationship for two years," said Ibrahim while talking to Siddharth Kannan.

Sharing that he was the first guy Deepika met in Mumbai, he said, “She was very confident because she is Prakash Padukone’s daughter, so everyone knew about her." Muzammil further shared that it was Deepika who asked him out and he was the one who broke up with her.

“I was a star at that time, she was not. She is a superstar now. Everyone knows her; nobody knows me. I am a big fan. I love watching her movies. She is a beautiful woman. She is doing so great, but the fact is what it is," Ibrahim said.

When questioned of them being in touch, Ibrahim replied, “Before she got married, we would talk sometimes." He shared that they became friendly after their breakup and used to congratulate each other on their achievements. However, they lost touch after Deepika married Ranveer Singh.

“We were kids then. We would go on dates in a rickshaw in the rain. That was very cute. I had more money than her because I had started earning better. Then I bought a car and she was very happy about that. These things are very memorable because I have not been on a date in a rickshaw since then, and we were so happy even though we had no money," Muzammid said while recalling his time with Deepika.

The actor also shared how he asked the DJ to play her favourite song on repeat since it was her birthday. “Even with no money, the DJ would play the song that she liked because I was friends with the DJ. For an hour and a half, he just played that song because it was her birthday," he said.
