Is Deepika Padukone making a Fast and Furious Hollywood debut?

Deepika Padukone is riding high, and how! First, there was the success of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, then came the record-buster performance of Chennai Express, in which Padukone’s performance in particular won praise from all critics. Now, the cherry on her filmi cake has come in the shape of a role in a Hollywood film. Times Of India reported the actress has been finalised as a cast member in the upcoming Fast & Furious 7 starring Vin Diesel. Apparently the casting agents were looking for “someone who resembled Deepika Padukone” while scouting for an actress and Padukone herself volunteered to audition. Apart from Padukone, Kangana Ranaut and Chitrangada Singh had also reportedly auditioned for the role. However, if the buzz is to be believed, then the paperwork is underway and it will take around six months to seal the contract. After the contract is done, the official announcement will be made. If Fast and the Furious 7 comes through, then Padukone will join Tabu, Aishwarya Rai and Mallika Sherawat in the list of Bollywood actresses who have got their toe in through the Hollywood door. As far as Bollywood is concerned, Padukone has another big release coming up in November this year, when she appears in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela.
