A host of American films have been premiering in India owing to the excitement among the Indian audience for those films. For example, John Favreau's fantasy adventure The Jungle Book finds its roots in India as the film revolves around a kid who has grown up in the dense jungles of India. The English version minted more money at the box office than the dubbed version in Hindi in an unprecedented development that saw the film emerge as the second highest grosser of 2016 in India after Ali Abbas Zafar's Hindi sporting drama Sultan.

Similarly, Ron Howard's mystery thriller Inferno released a week prior in India as it starred Indian actor Irrfan Khan in a significant role. Khan has also appeared in successful Western films like Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire, Ang Lee's Life of Pi, Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man and Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World. The lead actor of Inferno, Tom Hanks even flew down to India to promote the film alongside Khan.

In a similar turn of events, Deepika Padukone took to Twitter to announce that her Hollywood debut DJ Caruso's action film xXx: The Return of Xander Cage will release first in India on 14 January, 2017 before it hits the theaters in the rest of the world on 20 January, 2017.

Padukone plays the role of Serena Unger who joins the team of Vin Diesel's character to save the world against a formidable evil force. As we have seen in the promos, she will be seen in an action avatar. The makers of the film even released a Padukone-centric trailer of the film which got her Indian fans drooling. Cashing in on the excitement, the makers will allow her Indian fans to be the first ones to watch the long-awaited film.

Speculations are also rife that Vin Diesel will fly down to India to promote the film alongside Padukone, including on an episode of the infamous chat show Koffee with Karan Season 5 where the two co-stars will share the Koffee couch. These rumours gained traction after Padukone's Hollywood contemporary Priyanka Chopra announced that the entire cast of her debut Hollywood flick Baywatch, including Dwayne Johnson and Zac Effron, will be in India to promote the film.

While there is no official word on Diesel's visit yet, it is confirmed that the film will release a week prior on 14 January, 2017 and will clash with Shaad Ali's romantic comedy Ok Jaanu which is scheduled to release a day before on 13 January, 2017.
