Dear Zindagi first look: Alia Bhatt, Shah Rukh Khan seem to be on the ride of a lifetime

Since Monday, 17 October, Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt has been posting suggestive videos regarding their upcoming film Dear Zindagi on their Twitter timeline. It was a banter filled conversation.

Given that SRK and Alia Bhatt play key roles in Gauri Shinde's film, which is co-produced by Dharma Productions and Red Chillies Entertainment, we were excited to know what was coming next.

These videos were followed by the Dear Zindagi poster, where you can see Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan in a countryside setting, riding a bike.

There seems to be a warm camaraderie between them. Dear Zindagi features Alia as an aspiring filmmaker (shades of Gauri here?) and her relationships with four different men, and how these influence her life, and the film she is working on.

Alia’s love interest(s) will be played not by Shah Rukh, but by Aditya Roy Kapur, Ali Zafar, Angad Bedi and Kunal Kapoor. Each of these men will be shown to have very different personalities and Alia’s character will interact with them in different ways.

Shah Rukh, on the other hand, will play a life coach who Alia approaches for help. It is he who helps her put her experiences and relationships in perspective, and helps her develop a more holistic perspective on life.

Some reports have termed Shah Rukh’s role in the film as an “extended cameo”, with a screen time not amounting to more than a half hour or so.

Further reports have stated that there isn't going to be a theatrical trailer for the film. Instead three teasers will be revealed, titled Take 1, Take 2 and Take 3.

This is Gauri Shinde's second film post English Vinglish.
