The list was announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on its official website. The film based on the dystopian scenatrio about waters from a collapsed dam sweeping away thousands, released in 550 theares across India on 25 November. The Tamil Nadu government alleged that the script referred to the Mullaperiyar dam, that has had Kerala and Tamil Nadu at odds for a while now. In Tamil Nadu, a two-week ban was imposed on the film starting 8 December and was subsequently extended to six months to maintain law and order.
