'Cutiepie' from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil boasts of adorable chemistry between Ranbir, Anushka
'Cutiepie' is touted as the filmy song of the year, and it sure is. Five songs in, and it's safe to say that Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has a great soundtrack.
If the first three songs from Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil were restrained, under-performed but very intense (all of them had a semblance of unrequited love), the next two songs are quite the opposite.
First came 'The Breakup Song', which, if we're really being honest, isn't really one. The title track is far more an actual breakup song than this one. This seemed to be a song to dance to when you can't be bothered with real emotions.
And then, comes the song 'Cutiepie', which is touted as the filmy song of the year. It starts with a catchy Punjabi intro, and you're already hooked. Remember the few shots in the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil trailer where Ranbir and Anushka are seen having a blast? Well, they're all from this song.
They dance, they sing, they're dramatic/filmy and generally seem to be having the best time. You can tell these two characters have a great friendship between them and an even better understanding of one another. Living life to the fullest seems to be the memo of the sing, and Ranbir and Anushka do it ample justice.
These two have really great chemistry for a lead pair, and it has only amplified since their last outing Bombay Velvet. Cutiepie is so adorable, you want in on their jokes and quirks. You want to run around London, or watch the cloud pass by around Eiffel Tower with them.
It definitely helps that the song itself is quite catchy. Great timing for a fun, filmy number, given it is Diwali and the wedding season is right around corner. Five songs in, and it's safe to say that Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has a great soundtrack.
