Chhaava box office: Vicky Kaushal starrer set to beat Uri: The Surgical Strike to become his highest-grosser of all time

Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhaava has ended its opening week on a blockbuster note. After getting a benefit from the state holiday of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti on Wednesday, the historical war drama remained rock solid on Thursday by raking in around Rs 23 crore.

The film now stands with a total collection of around Rs 226 crore and is expected to surpass the collection of Uri: The Surgical Strike (Rs 245.36 crore) by today or tomorrow to become Vicky Kaushal’s highest-grosser of all time.

Since Arjun Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Mere Husband Ki Biwi has released today, it would be interesting to see how Chhaava performs at the box office in its second weekend. Looking at the current scenario, the movie is expected to hit the Rs 300 crore mark in its second week at the ticket windows.

Talking about  Chhaava , the film is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It is adapted from Shivaji Sawant’s book of the same name. Directed by Laxman Utekar of Luka Chuppi and Mimi fame, the biographical war period drama also features Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Diana Penty, Ashutosh Rana, Vineet Kumar Singh, Divya Dutta, Kiran Karmarkar, Sarang Sathaye, Suvrat Joshi, Ankit Anil Sharma, Shubhankar Ekbote, Shivraj Walvekar, Akshay Anand Kohli, Rakesh Theraja and Neil Bhoopalam among others. It marks the second collaboration between Laxman, Vicky and producer Dinesh Vijan after Zara Hatke Zara Bachke.

The music of the film is composed by AR Rahman while the camera is cranked by Saurabh Goswami. The impeccable dialogues of Chhaava are written by Rishi Virmani.
