Cannes 2014: Aishwarya rocks red carpet with golden Cavalli gown

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s first Cannes appearance may have been delayed thanks to the traffic controllers’ strike in France, but the actress surely made it worth the wait as she finally sashayed down the red carpet on 20 May, 2014, looking absolutely stunning in a golden Roberto Cavalli fishtail gown. Reuters[/caption] Making her Cannes red carpet appearance this year at the screening of the film Deux jours, une nuit(Two Days, One Night ), the actress chose a strapless gold sequined mermaid dress that perfectly complemented by porcelain complexion , keeping the accessories to a bare minimum.  She left her hair open in effortless beach curls framing her face and cascading down her back. She glammed -up the entire look with red lips and winged eyelashes. AP[/caption] However, this time the 40-year-old actress silenced all the haters not only with her choice of the haute couture but also her proudly curvaceous shape. The Roberto Cavalli gown that the actress wore had been previously worn by actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party this year. However, Chenoweth in comparison looked washed out compared to Aishwarya who did a far better job at making the dress memorable as she struck a mermaid pose for the shutterbugs at the red carpet. Reuters[/caption] The Devdas star, who is accompanied by her two-year-old daughter Aaradhya and mother Brinda Rai at the 67th Cannes Film Festival, missed her date on the red carpet last week due to the Air Traffic Control strike in France. Aishwarya has been a regular at Cannes thanks to her stint as the L’Oreal Paris brand ambassador and her 13th appearance at the red carpet saw her joining beauties Amber Heard, Alessandra Ambrosio and Selita Ebanks. The actress also did a special shoot with Slumdog Millionaire star Frieda Pinto for the beauty brand at Cannes.
