Can anything be happier than India dancing to Pharrel Williams?

While there are several versions of Pharrell Williams' Happy song doing the rounds and we have seen many people from Meryl Streep to Lupita Nyong'O dance to it, it seems the happy man has also struck a chord with the youth of India.

Recently, in a video made by VH1 India and Comedy Central, we see people from all across India dancing to Pharrell Williams' Happy. The video, which has been doing rounds on social networking sites,  shows people of all age groups — from kids to senior citizens clapping their hands and dancing. While the video begins with footage of Williams' original album we are soon greeted by the city streets of India and carefree and happy people dancing to the tunes of the songs.

In an interview to Times Of India, Williams spoke about the response his song got in India. "It feels great that my music is appreciated globally. To receive so much love from fans all over, it's something that can't be described in words. India is a beautiful country and nothing describes it better than striking the chord with the youth of a nation".

Happy was originally written for the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack album which released in 2013. However, It also served as the main single for Willaims' album, G I R L.  Pharrell Williams also collaborated with United Nations Foundation to help promote the second International Day of Happiness with his song. It was nominated for a Grammy award in the 'best song' category.
