Brahmastra-Shiva: Part One came on the celluloid after a decade of research and planning and development. It was hailed as the most expensive film of Indian cinema that brought together the ensemble of Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, and Shah Rukh Khan in a cameo. It was always planned as a trilogy and many theories about part two called Dev went viral on social media, suggesting Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone play Ranbir’s parents. However, a recent report by Times Now says the Gully Boy star hasn’t been approached for the sequel. It said, “The second part of the Brahmastra trilogy is unlikely to have another major star. No producer can afford it. After Animal, Ranbir is likely to re-negotiate his price. It stands at around Rs 60 crore now. To bring in Ranveer would be a blow to the budget as he would charge no less than Ranbir.” It added, “As of now, no other actor, not even Ranveer, has been approached. The only surety is that Dharma Production is still on as the salient producer. Another producer is likely to be brought in later. Only then will Brahmastra 2’s cast be expanded. Right now, Ayan Mukerji is working on War 2. Brahmastra 2 won’t begin before 2026.” Ranbir Kapoor is currently riding high on the blockbuster success of Animal that is all set to enter the Rs 400-crore club. He’s unlikely to have any release next year after having two in 2023. Ranbir Kapoor – The biggest superstar of this generation To be honest, RK possesses all the traits of a superstar – great looks, impeccable acting chops and a humongous fanbase. In fact, during the Hyderabad pre-release event of Animal, Prince of Tollywood, Mahesh Babu said, “I’m a huge Ranbir Kapoor fan, and he’s the best actor we have in India. I have a feeling Animal would be his best work to date.”
