A media-celebrity spat, thanks to the social media these days, gets a lot more spice than it used to in the past. While tabloids continue quoting anonymous ‘sources’ to churn out reports dime a dozen, the people at the receiving end of those articles no more have to sit back and wring their hands in anger. The latest to prove the same is filmmaker and producer Anurag Kashyap, who asked popular tabloid Bombay Times to do ‘some research’ before writing and then asked their sources to ‘go f*** themselves’. And all this, thanks to Twitter! Bombay Times quoted a ‘well-placed’ source saying that the _Gangs Of Wasseypu_r director Anurag Kashyap will go solo as a producer and not collaborate with Sunil Bohra and Guneet Monga again after a tiff that happened during the release of GoW II. [caption id=“attachment_481016” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Reuters[/caption] The source was quoted as saying that despite the fact that AKFPL (Anurag Kashyap Films Pvt Ltd) is in Anurag’s name, Bohra and Monga were very closely involved in the productions. “However, after the release of GOW II, Anurag learnt that Bohra and Monga had inflated the films’ cost. Even his friends at Viacom18 Motion Pictures told him that working with Bohra and Monga could prove adverse in the long run. Considering the situation, Anurag is not going to work with both of them again,” the ‘source’ revealed. Anurag Kashyap had a very different story to tell on Twitter. Lashing out at the daily, Kashyap tweeted that “Bombaytimes if you are so desperate for news, do some research… Don’t keep quoting sources… come and see with your own eyes… gossipmongers.” The director went on to say that, “Guneet Monga is the sole reason why AKFPL does what it does and Sunil Bohra is the big pillar of support behind us. All alleged sources of today’s story can go f**k themselves, however hard they try they can not break us. Your insinuations can’t stop us.” “And we will continue to make the films we want to make and the way we want to with all of us in it so “source” go f**k yourself again, " he added. Whether there is any truth in the Bombay Times story is yet to be known but with the director himself denying the report so vehemently, there seems to be a big question-mark on the tabloid’s ‘sources’.
