Bombay High Court grants interim protection to two women accused of cheating actor Vivek Oberoi of Rs 1.55 crore

It was recently reported actor Vivek Oberoi was cheated of Rs 1.55 crore and the accused were identified as Nandita Saha and Raadhika Pratap Nanda. Oberoi, his wife, and the two women in question were partners in the firm Anandita Entertainment LLP. The Bombay High Court has now granted interim protection to the accused, as per the order of Justice SV Kotwal. “The allegations attributed against the present applicants are covered under the clauses of the partnership agreement of December 1, 2020. In any case, at the highest, this dispute is between the partners inter se and for that criminal offence is not made out,” the Court said. It was last year in July when Oberoi was allegedly cheated of Rs 1.55 crore by three persons who asked him to invest in an event and film production firm promising good returns but used the money for themselves, police said. The incident came to light when the actor’s chartered accountant filed a complaint against the trio in the MIDC police station in Andheri east, an official said. According to the complaint, the three accused, including a film producer, were business partners of the actor and had asked him to invest money in an event and film production firm, he said.
