Vinod Khanna passes away: Karan Johar, Rishi Kapoor, Akshay Kumar tweet condolences

Veteran actor Vinod Khanna, best known for films like Amar Akbar Anthony, Achanak, Qurbani and Dabangg, has breathed his last. A host of celebrities across politics, cricket and the Indian film fraternity paid respect to the actor on Twitter.

President Pranab Mukherjee said, "Heartfelt condolences on the passing away of Vinod Khanna, a highly talented and acclaimed actor and MP."

Sanjay Dutt has said, ""It is saddening to hear of the demise of Vinod Khanna ji. I have watched him as a child and throughout my life was always fascinated by his style and charisma. He was always a thorough gentleman. A big loss to the fraternity. He is and always will be family to the Dutts. May his soul rest in peace. My deepest condolences to Kavita Bhabhi, Akshay, Rahul and Sakshi."

 West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee said, "I am deeply saddened by his death. He was a shining star of cinema. With his death, an era has ended. This void can never be filled. I extend my condolences to his bereaved family and countless fans. May his soul rest in peace."
Minister of Information and Broadcasting Venkaiah Naidu said, "I am deeply saddened by the passing away of a great film personality and Member of Parliament Vinod Khanna. I am shocked at his untimely death. May his soul rest in peace. His contribution to Indian cinema is tremendous and it will be very difficult to fill the void caused by his untimely death. His death is a great loss to the party and to the people of Gurdaspur."
