Student of the Year 2: Chunky Pandey's daughter Ananya to replace Jhanvi Kapoor as lead?

While Karan Johar has locked in Tiger Shroff’s name for Student of the Year 2, the film maker is still searching for female leads. From Disha Patani to Sara Ali Khan and even Jhanvi Kapoor, the names of several new faces were quoted as being potential candidates for this role. The buzz is that Ananya Pandey, Chunky Pandey’s daughter, is being considered for the part of the female lead. Images from Twitter and Instagram[/caption] According to a DNA report, Ananya is being finalised for one of the two female lead roles; unlike the first installment, this film will not have two male leads. Student of the Year 2 will be directed by Punit Malhotra. In the same report, it is mentioned that Ananya has been preparing for her Bollywood debut, taking dance classes and training under the guidance of fitness expert Yasmin Karachiwala. Jhanvi Kapoor’s name was tagged to this film along with two more as a part of a three-film contract that she had reportedly signed with Karan Johar. It was also reported that Johar planned to launch her in a manner similar to Alia Bhatt during Student of the Year. One of these three films was supposed to be the Hindi remake of the Marathi film Sairat, and cast opposite her in this romantic-drama was Ishaan Khatter. But it was later reported that the duo will be starring in the Hindi remake of teenage romantic-drama The Fault in Our Stars, directed by Shashank Khaitan. Sara Ali Khan, on the other hand, has been signed on for Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath, where she will star opposite Sushant Singh Rajput.
