Sara Ali Khan likely to play Irrfan Khan's daughter Pia in Hindi Medium sequel; film to start rolling in August
Sara Ali Khan might play Pia, the daughter of Irrfan Khan's Raj Batra who will be seen fighting the education system in his late 50s, in the sequel.
Mumbai Mirror reports that Sara is being considered for the role of Pia (Irrfan's daughter) in the sequel. The second part of the franchise will see a little aged Raj Batra in his early 50s fighting the woes of the education system.
Dinesh Vijan, however, only said this much to Mirror, “I have just finished the script and I am going to get into the casting now.” The film will go on floors in August.
Irrfan Khan even won a Filmfare Award in the Best Actor (Popular) category for Hindi Medium. Hindi Medium 2 will also be produced by Bhushan and Krishan Kumar's T-Series, and Dinesh Vijan and Homi Adjania's Maddock Films.
Sara is currently shooting for Abhishek Kapoor's romantic drama Kedarnath which will see Sushant Singh Rajput as the male lead opposite her. The film is currently facing some troubles as the main producing team of KriArj Entertainment has reportedly parted ways with the director. Kedarnath is slated to release this Christmas on 21 December, along with Aanand L Rai's Zero starring Shah Rukh Khan. The film is set in the backdrop of the pilgrimage city of Uttarakhand.
