Rajkummar Rao may not share screen space with Kai Po Che co-star Sushant Singh Rajput in Nitesh Tiwari film
While Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer Kedarnath is progressing slowly, Rajkummar Rao has a busy year ahead with Stree, Mental Hai Kya, Fanney Khan among others

The two young blazing new stars of Bollywood, Rajkummar Rao and Sushant Singh Rajput, will reportedly not be working together in Nitesh Tiwari’s next project, as reported by DNA.
The two young guns, who got their Bollywood breakthrough with Kai Po Che in 2013, were in talks to be cast together in the yet-to-be-titled project about a socially relevant college drama.
However, Rajkummar will not be able to do the film which had already announced Sushant Singh Rajput as its lead. According to the DNA report, while both the actors have become successful, Rajkummar has had a fantastic 2017 with a spate of successful movies that were also critically acclaimed. More importantly, in most of his upcoming films, he is playing a solo hero. While he is not averse to doing multi-hero projects, playing the second lead to Sushant at this stage of his career is not something he may want to do.

Besides, he has started shooting for Stree opposite Shraddha Kapoor and will reunite with his Queen co-star Kangana Ranaut in Mental Hai Kya. Though the actor is always on the lookout for content-driven scripts, he does not have the dates to accommodate the film with Sushant, as per the same report.
While Sushant's legally embroiled Kedarnath opposite Sara Ali Khan is progressing rather slowly, Rao has a packed year ahead with Mental Hai Kya and Stree.
