Rahul Khanna, Karisma Kapoor, Nimrat Kaur, Vaani Kapoor: Celebs at Lakme Fashion Week

A bevy of celebrities walked the ramp at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week’s Summer/Resort 2017 edition in Mumbai.

Befikre star Vaani Kapoor was the showstopper for LABEL Ritu Kumar, a collection that was themed around ‘Maharaja Pop’, inspired by the rich fabrics and ornamentations of erstwhile royalty, merged with quirky colour accents and bold, military inspired prints.

Vaani wore an exquisite floral floor-length skirt paired with a gold bralet and a mesh black bomber jacket that was embellished with 3D flowers.

Designer Duo Falguni and Shane Peacock had Bipasha Basu as their showstopper. She walked the ramp in a limited edition cape gown in mauve with Swarovski elements and hint of floral, motif and geometric lines in a classic silhouette.

“Bipasha is fashionista and a woman of substance. She brings life to our interpretation of an independent modern women who epitomises the very strong and witty fashionista” said Falguni Peacock.

Aprita Mehta’s Summer/Resort ‘17 collection titled #IslandLife paid homage to long days of summer and holiday wardrobes. Easy-to-wear and feminine pieces perfect for a sophisticated summer getaway formed the mainstay of the line.

Karisma Kapoor, who walked the ramp for Arpita, opted for an all cream, chic, understated summer look: high-waisted pleated palazzo pants with a thread and mirror embroidered fringed crop top and jacket.

Nimrat Kaur was absolutely lovely as she walked the ramp for Sonam and Paras Modi. Nimrat wore a beautifully embellished lehenga in a deep shade of red for her turn on the ramp.

Burgoyne (Irish linen manufacturers) presented a menswear show at Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2017 with designer Narendra Kumar. Brand ambassador Rahul Khanna was the showstopper for the collection.
