Ragini MMS Returns trailer offers standard mix of sleaze and horror that franchise is known for

The trailer for ALT Balaji’s Ragini MMS Returns just released and it offers the standard mix of sleaze and horror that we have come to expect from the Ragini MMS franchise. [caption id=“attachment_4043393” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Youtube screen grab from the Ragini MMS Returns trailer.[/caption] What started off as a movie — starring Rajkummar Rao and Kainaz Motivala, passing on the baton to Sunny Leone for its second installment — has now metamorphed into a web-series starring Karishma Sharma, Riya Sen, and Siddharth Gupta. The trailer sees Sharma and Gupta romancing in various locations, interspersed with glimpses of a scary witch-like woman wearing a red sari (as she screeches into the camera). A skimpily clad Sharma runs rampant throughout the trailer, showcasing enough lingerie to make her a Victoria’s Secret angel. Riya Sen was tough to spot, to say the least. I’m not entirely sure if she was even in the trailer… A spooky background score adds to the horror element of the show, and to be fair; there were a couple of moments during the trailer that I got the chills. The tagline of the show reads: “They didn’t know it then. It was a threesome”, and if that’s not the creepiest thing you’ve read all day then I don’t know what is. The first Ragini MMS movie was directed by Pawan Kripalani in 2011 and it gave birth to a commercial franchise that breaks the internet every time there is any new snippet of information that is released.
