Radhika Apte to star in Anurag Kashyap's short film for Bombay Talkies 2
Four years after the release of the anthology Bombay Talkies, directors Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Karan Johar and Dibakar Banerjee will be jointly presenting short films for the second time. The theme of this edition will be love and lust, as was previously reported.
Now, it has emerged that Radhika Apte will star in Anurag Kashyap's film.
"Radhika will not only act, but has also written the script which revolves around the central theme. She plays a character who deals with several complexities in a relationship. They start shooting by October-end in Mumbai. Anurag has already begun his prep," said a source speaking to Mumbai Mirror.
Previously, Apte and Kashyap have worked together on his film That Day After Everyday. They also starred together in Onir's anthology film I Am.
Karan Johar too, will reportedly pick his cast and begin shooting at around the same time as Kashyap. Zoya Akhtar has wrapped up the shoot of her short film, which stars Bhumi Pednekar, Neil Bhoopalam and Rasika Dugal. Dibakar Banerjee has cast Manisha Koirala in his film, and it is said that she has a never-seen-before avatar.
Bombay Talkies 2 is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Ashi Dua. Dua previously assisted Anurag Kashyap, and she has mentioned in the past that it was Kashyap who put the idea of an anthology film in her head.
