Prateik Babbar to play negative role against childhood friend Tiger Shroff in Baaghi 2?
Prateik Babbar has reportedly been signed to play villain in Baaghi 2 whereas Tiger Shroff has gone on record to say he will never do negative roles.
It was earlier reported that Tiger Shroff will be paired opposite Disha Patani in Ahmed Khan's Baaghi 2. Now, reports state that besides his good friend Patani, Tiger might also share the screen space with his childhood friend Prateik Babbar.
Mumbai Mirror reports that producer Sajid Nadiadwala has roped in Prateik to play the negative role in Baaghi 2. He will reportedly be seen locking horns with Tiger in the film. It will also be his first film in three years as his last release was Prashant Nair's 2015 comedy Umrika.
Prateik and Tiger's friendship originates from the working relationship their parents shared with each other. Tiger's father Jackie has shared the screen space with Prateik's parents Raj Babbar and late Smita Patil in multiple films, the most notable being Ravi Chopra's 1986 film Dahleez.
Now, their sons are all set to share the frame. The same report states that Prateik will start shooting for his negative role in the first schedule of the film that will begin in August.
As far as negative roles are concerned, Tiger has confessed, in an interview to the Times of India, that he will go the Salman Khan way and never portray an out and out negative character onscreen.
The same report quotes him as saying, "I don't mind a negative role like Hrithik sir's in Dhoom 2 — an anti-hero. But, I will never play a villain because movies are powerful platforms to motivate, inspire and guide people. I have a huge following among kids and I don't want to misguide them. I do action films, but the violence is not gory. I am very conscious about it. It's more like what Jackie Chan does — stylised and fun."
Baaghi 2 is slated to release on 27 April, 2018.
