Naam Shabana day one box office collection: Taapsee Pannu-starrer receives lukewarm response
Naam Shabana, which is a spin-off of Akshay Kumar's Baby, performed averagely at the box office on day 1.

Naam Shabana, which is a spin-off of Akshay Kumar's Baby, released in theatres on 31 March, 2017, and thus far, it has witnessed a slow start at the box office.
The film had a 15% average occupancy in the morning shows on Friday. Hyderabad and Gujarat have majorly contributed to the film's collections on the first day.
This spy film has been called average and below average by critics, mainly critiquing it for its lack of conviction.
Film critic and analyst Taran Adarsh said that the film has a screen count of 2100. It has been released across 37 countries and 354 screens worldwide.
Adarsh added that it fared better in the evening shows, and cited Akshay Kumar's star presence as the reason for the improved performance.
Koimoi.com reports that since Naam Shabana was made on a moderate budget, it should recover costs in the long run.
Naam Shabana follows the story of one of Baby's supporting characters Shabana, making it a prequel to the original film. The creators of the film were impressed by Pannu's stunts in Baby, which is what prompted them to make this film.
Directed by Shivam Nair, it stars Pannu, Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee, Anupam Kher and Danny Denzongpa.
