Judwaa 2 becomes second highest 2017 grosser after Baahubali 2; Golmaal Again crosses Rs 50 cr

David Dhawan's comedy Judwaa 2, starring his son Varun Dhawan, has become the second highest grosser of Hindi cinema this year. After the rather insurmountable collection of SS Rajamouli's war epic Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, Judwaa 2 stands as the second highest Hindi grosser of 2017 at a domestic collection of Rs 137.81 crore.

In its third week, the collection of the Dushherra release, Judwaa 2, continues to rise though the numbers have now gone in lakhs instead of crores in a day. Judwaa 2 has, thus, crossed the lifetime collection of Rahul Dholakia's crime drama Raees, starring Shah Rukh Khan, that was the second highest grosser this year.

Yet another comedy that released on a festival, Rohit Shettty's Diwali release Golmaal Again, is dominating the box office this week. The Ajay Devgn, Tabu-starer earned Rs 30.14 crore on its opening day this past Friday and then garnered Rs 28.37 crore on Saturday, cashing in on the Diwali holidays.

As its total collection for the first two days stands at Rs 58.51 crore, it is expected to hit the coveted Rs 100 crore mark any time this week. Golmaal Again also stars Parineeti Chopra, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade, Johnny Lever, Prakash Raj, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Sanjay Mishra.
