Jagga Jasoos: Anurag Basu confirms Govinda not part of Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif starrer
Anurag Basu admits that it is their loss that Govinda's part was chopped off from Jagga Jasoos after the script was altered.

It was earlier reported that two stills from the sets of Anurag Basu's upcoming action comedy adventure film Jagga Jasoos got leaked in which Govinda sports an unrecognisably quirky avatar while sharing the screen space with the lead actors - Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif.
However, now Deccan Chronicle reports that Basu has denied Govinda to be a part of the film.
The report quotes him as saying, "I had shot with him for a couple of days in the initial days. After that, there were changes in the story and few other things changed. So, for now, all the reports that have come in the media about the fact that Govinda is in the movie, I want to tell you that he is not there in Jagga Jasoos, but I have shot with him. His part is not in the film. It was very kind of him that he had said yes as I had requested him for this character.”

Ranbir, who is also a co-producer of the film, added that it was their loss that Govinda's part could not make it to the final cut.
The same report states that Govinda had a different story to tell. The report quotes him as saying, "I've finished my work but I won't be a part of the promotions. I'm upset with the makers for not clarifying things on my behalf. I can understand them not wanting to get dragged into a silly controversy but not reacting was not a solution. Nobody is allowed to make money by defaming me. I may forgive but I'll never forget."
Jagga Jasoos also stars Sayani Gupta, Karan Wahi and Saswata Chatterjee. It is co-produced by UTV Motion Pictures, Walt Disney Pictures, Ranbir's Picture Shuru Productions and Basu's Ishana Movies. It is slated to release on 14 July.
