Govinda is all set to return to the silver screen with director Abhishek Dogra's next venture which is tentatively titled Fry Day.
Dogra is known for helming the 2015 film Dolly Ki Doli. Govinda will be starring alongside actor Varun Sharma of Fukrey fame.
This will be Govinda's return to Bollywood after his last try at the box-office with Dipankar Senapati's Aa Gaya Hero. The film failed to impress the critics or audience and did not fare too well at the box office overall.
Fry Day will be writen by Rajeev Kaul who has previously written the screenplay for movies like Hadh Kar Di Aapne (2000), Dulhe Raja (1998) and Ishq (1997) and is going to be produced by Sajid Qureshi.
Earlier this year Govinda had shot for his portions in Anurag Basu's Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif starrer Jagga Jasoos, however his part of the film failed to make it to the silver screen and got edited out during the movie's post-production. The actor and director were involved in a very public fued regarding the same. The actor has also been involved in rumours of a fued with director David Dhawan.
Govinda has previously tried to make his mark on the Bollywood box-office with unsuccessful ventures like Kill Dil and Happy Ending, both of which were not too well appreciated by the critics.
