Filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane is renowned for the music of his films, whether it was the 2010 film Udaan or the 2013 film Lootera. Going by the trailer of his next, Trapped seemed from a distant zone. However, the new song of Trapped suggests that there is a common underlying force in all his three films — heart-rending and soulful music.

Dheemi: The meditative pace of this song from Trapped suggests something is amiss

'Dheemi' explores the familiar zone of falling in love slowly and surely. But it differs from its predecessors in terms of the freshness it brings to the ears. The collaboration between three new artistes — composer Alokananda Dasgupta, singer Tejas Menon and lyricist Rajeshwari Dasgupta — is probably the reason behind the song sounding like a breath of fresh air.

Menon's stirring vocals, Alikananda's breezy music and Rajeshwari's calming lyrics make for a concoction that eases every part of your body. As far as the visuals are concerned, Rajkummar Rao and Geetanjali Thapa share a cozy comfort on screen irrespective of their geographical location, whether it is their workplace, a cart where they eat pav-bhaji, a local train where they listen to music on a pair of earphones, Marine Drive where they walk hand in hand or in the bed when they make out till they eventually strike a dead end.

When Rao's character proposes to Thapa's character, she is hesitant because of the dingy room he lives in. He decides to buy an isolated flat in a new locality and the rest is history. Watch the Trapped trailer in case you do not get what we are implying.

The highlight of the song is that while it calms your soul, it also foretells a tragedy through its unique texture. It almost comes across as if saying, "Make sure you make the most of it as it won't last long."

Trapped is slated to release on 17 March.
