News of a drug racket functioning within the Telugu film industry was broken when alleged kingpin Calvin Mascarenhas gave a confession as well as a list of celebrities who were part of it. A Special Investigation Team set up for the case is currently on the lookout for Mumaith Khan, who has been named as one of the celebrities involved in this investigation. Image from Twitter[/caption] The police could not locate her at her residences in Hyderabad and Mumbai, but they later learnt that she is a participant in the Telugu edition of the reality show Bigg Boss, and are now contemplating serving her a notice while she is on set. The Bigg Boss Telugu house is located in Lonavla, Maharashtra, and Mumaith will be housed her until she is evicted from the show. On Friday, 14 July, Mumaith posted a video on social media where she can be seen saying that she does not do drugs and that she has not received summons from the SIT. The process of recording statements of the celebrities involved in this investigation was to begin on Wednesday, 12 July. Puri Jagannadh, one of Telugu cinemas most famous directors, was asked to appear before SIT officials on 19 July; he is rumoured to have played a major role. Speaking to The New Indian Express, a senior police official mentioned that they are still trying to locate Mumaith, whose questioning is scheduled for 21 July. Charmee Kaur, another actress, will be called for questioning on 20 July. Others who have also been summoned by the SIT office in Nampally are actors Subba Raju, Ravi Teja, Navdeep, Tarun, Nandu and Tanish, as well as cinematographer Syam K Naidu and art director Chinna. This list has been prepared by the Enforcement Directorate. Bigg Boss Telugu is being hosted by Junior NTR. The show has 14 contestants and will go on for the next 10 weeks.
