Bhuvan Arora on his character in 'Janaawar - The Beast Within': 'Playing him taught me how invisible burdens shape everyday life'

The title of a new web-series that’s streaming on Zee5 is Janaawar. It stars Bhuvan Arora of Farzi fame. Seeing Bhuvan Arora take center stage feels instantly likable. He plays SI Hemant Kumar whose wife is heavily pregnant and he wishes to spend some time with his family. We don’t need movies anymore to make us realize how the forces are unable to give time to their loved ones since they always have to choose Vardi over their wife.

Talking about his character, the actor revealed, “Spending time in Chhattisgarh, talking to the locals, and observing how caste and hierarchy quietly shape everyday interactions really opened my eyes. As an actor, it reminded me how layered human behaviour is — people carry invisible burdens, and that’s something I had to bring into Hemant without exaggeration.”

He added, “There was a local actor from Chhattisgarh he was supposed to shoot a scene where he was to be beaten up by the cops, and he was sitting there for a long time before the shot was ready, and I told him that you can go and rest, but he said no sir I am liking it, so I said it’s alright when the shot will be ready. I’m sure someone will call you,” he said, “Badi Mushkil Se Kam Milta Hai.. poora mehnat karna chahte hai” It made me take a back step and think in my head, sometimes we forget how grateful we should be for the opportunities we get."

Arora gets a role he can chew upon. A role he can sink his teeth into. The same holds true for almost all the actors who blend into the intensity of the idea. Don’t be fooled by the title. It’s not another Stree or Bhediya. It’s also not as urgent or breathless as Delhi Crime. It’s somewhere in between but also a show that has a language of its own. And Arora, a third wheel, right at the centre and deservingly so. Let the Janaawar be unleashed!
