Bhajji to kick off singing career with song titled 'Meri Maa'

Harbhajan Singh’s talents seemingly know no bounds. Most of us know him as the temperamental yet effective off spin bowler who can also swing a bat for India when needed, but apparently his skills are not just limited to the cricket field! Bhajji it turns out, is also a singer. [caption id=“attachment_950841” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] AFP[/caption] There is an erm.. music video that is already popular on YouTube, featuring the voice talents of Harbhajan, but instead of singing, he is seen instead preaching in Punjabi to fellow Punjabi singers and lyricists, asking them to desist from writing vulgar lyrics that portrayed the language and culture in a bad light. Some of the lyrics include lines like, “Every young man wants to be your songs hero, but the hero of your songs is either a hooligan or quarrelsome who eve teases girls. He is a spoiled brat” and “In your songs colleges are portrayed as places of love”. The YouTube video has close to a million hits. ( Watch it here ) And stirred by the success of the song perhaps, Bhajji is going to give singing another go. According to a report in the Mumbai Mirror, he has lent his voice to a song titled ‘Meri Maa’ which also features a music video starring both him and his mother. The report quoted the producer of the movie as saying that he was sure both the song and video were going to be big hits. It’s definitely going to be worth a watch!
