The actress recently attended the BAFTA 2024 Awards as a presenter. Besides making the nation proud for making it to the event, the actress won hearts for keeping her appearance desi yet stylish in a golden Sabyasachi saree. The actress further caught the limelight for presenting the award for the Film Not in English Language Award category.
Deepika , before presenting the award, introduced the nominations of the categories and said, “The incredible stories nominated in this category, depict real and imagined worlds that stay with us long after the credits roll. From the Alps to the Andes, South Poland to Seoul and to Ukraine, the nominees are…” Following the same, the nominations were rolled through AV. The nominations were - 20 Days in Mariupol, Anatomy of a Fall, Past Lives, Society of the Snow and The Zone of Interest. Announcing the winner, Deepika went on to speak, “And the BAFTA goes to… The Zone of Interest.”
Deepika , as she arrived for the ceremony, walked the red carpet of the event, striking a pose with a bright smile on her face. Dressed in a golden and silver-hued shimmery saree with sequins work, the actress chose to go glam with dewy makeup and kohl-rimmed eyes. Her messy hair bun and statement earrings blended perfectly with her ensemble. For those unversed, BAFTA Awards are considered the highest film honours in Britain.
Deepika Padukone’s presence at the BAFTA awards comes nearly a year after she turned heads at the Oscars last year as she handed the Academy Award to the RRR team for the song ‘Naatu Naatu’. Her speech at the prestigious award seemingly won hearts and fans even lauded her for not faking her American accent.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika’s first appearance in 2024 came with the film Fighter, opposite Hrithik Roshan. The actress has a number of projects lined up in her kitty, including Kalki 2989 AD with Prabhas and Singham 3, directed by Rohit Shetty.
