Two producers of Baahubali Shobhu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni felt the heat when sleuths from income tax department conducted simultaneous raids at their homes and offices on Friday. The raid was first reported by CNN-News18. According to a report by Sakshi Post, filmmaker Tammareddy Bharadwaja criticised the I-T raids by saying that the I-T officials are raiding only for ’time-pass’. Greatandhra.com reports that the Baahubali 2 producers sold the film for a whopping amount to the distributors and took large sums in advance from them. Acting on a tip-off, the I-T department conducted the raids. Deccan Chronicle reported last month that filmmaker Karan Johar had backed out of buying the Hindi distribution rights of the long-awaited sequel as he was not willing to pay the huge amount charged by the producers of the film.
The IT department conducted simultaneous raids on the residences and offices of the Baahubali producers Shobhu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni.
