Baahubali 2 storm sweeps box-office in Japan; audiences love SS Rajamouli's magnum opus

The net collections of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion in Japan is estimated to be around $1 million. The film got released in Japan on 29 December, 2017.

Baahubali 2 storm sweeps box-office in Japan; audiences love SS Rajamouli's magnum opus

The year 2017 gave India SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, a film that made a real history at the box-office, not only in India but across several countries where it released. If the first installment, Baahubali: The Beginning was a blockbuster, the sequel turned out to be altogether a different ball game.

When Rajamouli's visual spectacle reached the land of rising sun, it still continued its glorious run. The film — Baahubali 2: The Conclusion — went on to mint $1 million as on 3 March; the film hit the Japan theatres on 29 December, 2017.

Not just the film, the people of Japan have developed a rather huge fancy for the film's characters and storyline. Baahubali merchandise is all the rage in the country. From gaming cards, cosplays, fan posters to people cheering during the film's run in movie theatres, the Japanese audience don't seem to stop hailing "Mahishmati" and its invincible protector.

With net worldwide collection estimated at Rs 1700 crore, the Prabhas-starrer was also the fastest to cross the coveted Rs 100 crore mark, reports The Hindustan Times.

Made on a budget of Rs 250 crore, Baahubali – the Conclusion stars Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishnan and Tamannaah. The film released in India on 27 April, 2017.
