While we all know that Fawad Khan will perhaps rock a handlebar moustache better than Anil Kapoor, whether he will be able to play the character of Lakhan, which Kapoor played with flamboyance and cockiness in the 1989 film, Ram Lakhan, will be interesting to watch. [caption id=“attachment_2168861” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Sachin Gokhale/Firstpost[/caption] A recent Hindustan Times report claim that Khan is all set to play Lakhan in the remake of Subhash Ghai’s film, which is being made by Rohit Shetty. This remake will also star Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. While Malhotra will reprise the role of Ram originally played by Jackie Shroff, Bhatt will reprise Madhuri Dixit’s role as Radha. Reportedly, Karan Johar, who previously tried his hand at making remakes with Agneepath will be producing the new Ram Lakhan. While neither Johar nor Shetty has confirmed the news yet, we are quite happy that one of Ghai’s best film is being remade and here are a few things we are expecting from the new film: 1. Fawad Khan shaking his booty to One, Two Ka Four: Sure we have seen him bust a move or two in the background as Sonam Kapoor took centre stage in all Khoobsurat songs, but in Ram Lakhan we do expect him to dance the way Kapoor did in the original. One of the very popular track from the film, One Two Ka Four was picturised mainly on Kapoor, where we saw the actor grove to drum beats. In the remake too, one such song wouldn’t be a terrible idea if Khan agrees to show us some of his best moves. 2. Sidharth Malhotra as the hot cop: Of course Jackie Shroff was good as the idealistic Ram but in Shetty’s version of Ram Lakhan we expect to see Malhotra not only as the honest inspector but also as the six-pack flashing, car wrecking super cop who indulges in some good old dialogue-baazi like most heroes in Shetty’s films do. We already feel bad about the numerous cars that are about to be blown up during the making of this film and can only hope that it is just the cars and not people who end up with broken body parts during the shoot. 3. Alia Bhatt as the feisty Radha: Madhuri Dixit’s Radha might have been rebellious but eventually she too cried and waited for Lakhan to come and rescue her. However, in the remake we expect Bhatt’s Radha to be more daring, feisty and fun. We hope Alia’s Radha isn’t at all like Dixit’s whiny version who sang songs like, “bada dukh dina, tere Lakkhan ne, bada dukh dina”.
