Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan looked ethereal in an Elie Saab Spring 2011 couture gown at the opening ceremony of the Palais de Festivals at Cannes yesterday. The champagne coloured, one-shouldered cap-sleeved beaded gown, with a peplum at the waist, made her look absolutely stunning! With her hair in an up do and nude, minimalistic makeup, the season’s hottest trend, Ash was a pap favourite, followed by Uma Thurman in Versace, Salma Hayek in Gucci Premiere, Rachel McAdams in Marchesa, Karolina Kurkova in Armani Prive and Gong Li in Roberto Cavalli.

Years after she won the pageant title, Ash undoubtedly reigns supreme as the most beautiful woman in the world. She is expected to make an announcement of playing the lead in Madhur Bhandarkar’s next — Heroine. Bhandarkar too, is in Cannes with her.

Sonakshi's got friends, Bollywood bickerings aside

Sonakshi Sinha has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons quite regularly. It has got to a point where her mother, Punam Sinha, has resorted to giving interviews about her daughter’s affable personality and how all the reported fights with Sonakshi and her contemporaries are completely untrue.

Sonakshi still has friends, never mind her Bollywood bickerings. She looked very happy to meet up with a friend Wednesday night as the two stepped out for dinner at Olive in Bandra, Mumbai. And no, it wasn’t Salman Khan! He isn’t the only friend she has with an address in the area you know!
