As Salman Khan turns 58, Karan Johar recalls how he got the 'perfect Aman' for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

One of the most popular actors, also known for holding a special place in the hearts of fans across all age groups, Salman Khan is celebrating his 58th birthday on Wednesday, December 27. While the actor has been receiving heartfelt love from his fans, friends, and co-actors, filmmaker Karan Johar has also shared a special post, wishing the Dabangg actor. Recounting a very special moment, Karan Johar opened up about how he cast Salman for his debut film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai 25 years ago. Karan also expressed gratitude towards Salman, his sister Alvira, and his father, the late Yash Johar for giving him the “perfect Aman.”

Karan Johar wishes Salman Khan on his 58th birthday Karan shared a still of Salman Khan as Aman Mehra from his 1998 film. Along with that, he penned a long note, recalling how Salman approached him at a party and promised to play the key role. “A massive movie star came up to me and asked me why I was standing by a corner… I told him I had been to several actors for a part but was politely rejected,” Karan wrote. Mentioning that Salman’s sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri is close to him, the filmmaker added that it was due to her that the Dabangg actor was convinced to meet him the next day to hear the story. “In my wildest dreams, I never imagined I would even get the opportunity of a narration … I went with a prayer in my heart and a deep desire for a miracle and narrated the first of the film like my life depended on it,” Karan wrote further adding that he was worried that Salman might think he was being offered SRK’s role. It was then that Salman said that the role was special for him as he knew Karan’s father and was doing the film for him. “I am deeply grateful to Alvira and my father’s goodwill for making sure I had the perfect Aman and SALMAN KHAN in my debut film! Gestures and stories like this just don’t happen today!” Karan concluded while wishing Salman Khan on his birthday. For the unversed, Karan Johar and Salman Khan have tied up for their next project titled The Bull which will be directed by Vishnu Vardhan.
