Arshad Warsi confirms: Ishqiya 3 will be brought out by Abhishek Chaubey soon

If reports are to be believed Abhishek Chaubey, the director of the Ishqiya franchisee, will soon be bringing Arshad Warsi-Naseeruddin Shah together for the third film in the series.

Actor Arshad Warsi confirmed the development and said to DNA , “Yes, we are in talks. Hopefully, Ishqiya 3 will be happening soon. Sometime next year, maybe.”

While the first film in the series received critical acclaim and was a commercial success as well, its sequel, Dedh Ishqiya, that had Madhuri Dixit and Huma Qureshi, did not perform as per expectations at the box office.

Ishqiya followed the life of two conmen Babban (Arshad Warsi) and Khalujaan (Naseeruddin Shah), who seek shelter at a widow’s (Vidya Balan) house while on the run from the law. While Babban and Khalujaan remained constant in the sequel, Madhuri Dixit entered the film as Begum Para of Lucknow. It remains to be seen who the lady will be along with the duo this time round.

Meanwhile, Arshad Warsi will be seen on screen with his next film The Legend of Michael Mishra, that releases on 5 August.
