Anurag Kashyap (#UglyAnurag) deletes his Twitter account

Anurag Kashyap who has always been very active on Twitter deleted his account today. This comes after a day Kashyap expressed his disappointment about The Lunchbox, which he produced, not being selected as India’s official entry to the Oscars. Kashyap had lashed out at the selection committee for choosing Gujarati film The Good Road over The Lunchbox and tweeted saying: “i dont know who the federation is.but it goes to show, why we completely lack the understanding to make films that can travel across borders.” [caption id=“attachment_1128567” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![Image courtesy: ibn live ](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/anurag_ibn.gif) Kashyap hasn’t explained why he deleted the account. Image courtesy: ibn live[/caption] Within minutes after Gyan Correa’s film The Good Road was announced as the official entry Kashyap tweeted: “Feeling very, very disappointed, can’t comment on the film I have not seen, but it better make it to final five… I hope and pray I am wrong and it actually is a film that knocks the socks off everyone” A couple of days back, the filmmaker had also mistakenly announced through his Twitter account that the legendary actor Dilip Kumar has passed away. However he had quickly corrected his mistake saying: “Apologies for the Dilip Saab tweet… I panicked because of three back to back messages, he is fine and the news is not true,”. The filmmaker is still to explain why he deleted his Twitter account so abruptly. Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming film Ugly will release on 11 October.
