Jagga Jasoos, presented in a musical format, banks on the emotional ups and downs of Jagga's and Shruti's life as they embark on a mission to hunt for Jagga's father.
The film, which had been in the making for three years, features Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif.
Ranbir's father and veteran actor Rishi Kapoor had also lashed out at Basu for delaying the film, and called the director "irresponsible" with money and time. Rishi blamed Basu and his unprofessional ways which ultimately, took a toll on the film. Be it finishing the editing a day before the release or chopping Govinda's cameo, Rishi did not hide his displeasure.
Govinda, who was also miffed with Basu for snipping out his cameo appearance at the last moment, had thanked Rishi for standing up for him.
The actor, known for his impeccable comic timing and eccentric dance moves, had reportedly traveled all the way to South Africa to shoot for Jagga Jasoos even while he wasn't keeping well.
